Established in 1979 by Brendan Murphy, Codex was founded to offer customers great value and an unbeatable local service on their day-to-day office supplies.
1984
Codex moves to its new Head Quarters in Glasnevin, Dublin. This central location enables Codex to serve its customers around Ireland.
1986
Codex introduces next-day delivery to its customers ensuring workplaces have everything they need to succeed in the quickest time possible.
1991
In order to offer workplaces a one-stop shop for their office supplies, Codex Print is established, further enhancing the Codex service offering.
2002
Codex launches its first online ordering platform enabling customers to order their office supplies with the touch of a button.
2007
Codex receives its first ISO certification. This committment to high standards continues to this day as Codex continuously looks to improve it's people, processes and product.
2015
As part of it's continued growth, Codex acquires Axis Office Supplies and furthers it's expansion throughout the Irish market.
2016
As a wholly owned Irish business committed to supporting local business and communities, Codex was delighted to be welcomed as a Guaranteed Irish member.
2017
Codex is recognised as a Great Place to Work. This achievement is due to the hard work and dedication by all colleagues to continuously improve.
2018
In the biggest acquisition to date, Codex successfully incorporates Staples Ireland further establishing Codex as a market leader in workplace solutions.
2019
As part of a committment to reduce carbon footprint, Codex introduces the first 100% electric van to it's distribution fleet in a small step to lower emmissions.
2020
Codex celebrates a successful 40 years in business. Having started with humble beginnings, the company has continued to grow to become the largest supplier of workplace products and solutions in Ireland.
2021
In response to increased numbers working from home, Codex partners with ergonomic specialists, Spectrum Optimise, to provide an end-to-end ergonomic solution for home, office and hybrid working.
2022
Codex invests in improving the online customer experience through the launch of its new website, www.codex.ie which showcases the new Codex branding and full range of innovative products and services.
